We are pleased to announce Joe Asermely, lead consultant for Navin, Haffty and Associates, has been inducted into the 2018 Pawtucket Hall of Fame. A lifelong resident of the Quality Hill area of Pawtucket, Joe has demonstrated a deep sense of community through civic engagement.
Joe is an active member of the Quality Hill Historic District Association where he has brought several beautification and preservation projects through to completion. His initiatives to have trees planted in front of homes and retro-looking street lights installed throughout the Quality Hill area are ongoing. Joe spearheaded a successful campaign to save the “Read-Ott Mansion” built in 1842. Since then, his efforts have contributed to making it more difficult for developers to demolish historic buildings in the town.
In addition, Joe has made a difference by raising funds for nonprofit organizations such as ACOS (AIDS Care Ocean State), The Samaritans, the Preservation Society of Pawtucket and the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen. He also contributed to programs for the homeless and children in need. In conjunction with members of the Pawtucket Police Department and Councilman, Joe formed the Quality Hill Neighborhood Crime Watch Committee.
Joe’s high level of volunteerism has inspired others to become involved in historic preservation and cultural and civic events. For more information on Joe and others being inducted into this year’s Hall of Fame, click here. Congratulations Joe!
