MUSE will hold its annual International Conference at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas later this month. If you are attending, we look forward to seeing you there.
Later in this newsletter we list presentations by some of our clients. If you are attending MUSE, we strongly encourage you to attend presentations by users. There will also be over 15 presentations by MEDITECH, many of which you will find of interest.
MUSE is first and foremost a user group, and the exchange of experiences is usually the greatest value one takes away from these conferences. If you have the choice between a user and a vendor presentation, we encourage you to support your peers.

Our 6.1 implementation methodology is focused on getting the most value from the software. As part of our planning and design efforts, we make our clients aware of the MEDITECH 6.1 capabilities. Here is a recent example:
In inventorying their current applications we learned our client uses Midas for a variety of quality reporting requirements and Sentri7 for clinical surveillance monitoring. By deploying MEDITECH’s Business and Clinical Analytics (BCA) with their Quality and Surveillance applications, this organization can replicate the functionality of these products using data directly from the EHR and eliminating the need, the interfaces and associated significant costs of these other products.
These changes involve significant education and communication, as multiple departments have developed comfort with their existing products and it isn’t as easy as walking in and announcing change is coming. We recognize the process is as important as the business case and respect the need to engage and involve key stakeholders in these decisions. As your hospital implements 6.1 and some of these newer products, look to create value by evaluating existing products and determining which can be replaced.
Mark your calendars as MEDITECH will be holding its annual Physician and CIO Forum on Wednesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 19 at their conference center in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Click above for more information or to register.

Client Testimonials
“We have long valued our partnership with NHA because of their commitment to excellence and collaborative relationship with MEDITECH. This synergy has undoubtedly benefited your mutual customers like us, Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System. This is part of the reason we continue to go back to NHA. Working with folks like you is a pleasure, without a doubt. The knowledge, experience and confidence that our NHA consultants have brought to bear to our implementation – revenue cycle, health information management, materials management, ambulatory – are truly world class. The world of consulting would be challenged to find the quality of professionals we have here, working with us, to slay our MEDITECH 6.15 implementation.”
– Audrey Parks, CIO, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital
“For the last several months we have engaged with NHA to assist us in the build of a MEDITECH platform for the ambulatory surgery center. We consulted with NHA to assist us and they did an outstanding job. From the beginning, I was impressed with their level of communication with the project manager and from the consultant. It’s clear to me that we would not have been able to complete this project without their assistance. For anyone that is interested in working with a consultant for their MEDITECH needs, I highly recommend NHA. Their team is well trained, highly knowledgeable, and great to work with!”
– Vladimir Radivojevic, MS, MBA, FACHE, Vice-President Surgical &
GI Services, Goshen Health

KLAS Comments – April 2017
“I asked our MEDITECH consultant for a reputable consultant for the scenario that we were wanting to do, and our MEDITECH consultant recommended Navin, Haffty & Associates (NHA). Our interviews with the account representative for NHA seemed really good, and the résumé for the NHA individual that was going to be on-site was very good. Thus, we were pleased right out of the gate with NHA. Everything that I have seen from our NHA consultant has been outstanding. The consultant has done a fantastic job, and if the opportunity presented itself for a future engagement, we wouldn’t hesitate to bring in the same consultant again.”
– Director/Physician
“We found NHA to be really easy to work with. We have only worked with our one consultant and with our account manager, and we haven’t needed any other points of contact. Both of those individuals are really good at getting back to us and at adapting the contract to our needs. They are flexible and want to make sure that we are taken care of and that we are getting value out of the project.”
– Manager/Analyst
