It isn’t every day you get to say thank you and goodbye to a long-time colleague and friend. With mixed emotions, I want to share the news that Jan Moore, our Senior Vice President for Service Delivery, will be retiring at the end of this month. After a 46-year career, she will be moving on to the next chapter of her life.
Prior to joining NHA, Jan had a very successful career working within healthcare organizations and leading MEDITECH consulting practices for JJ Wild and Perot/Dell. She joined NHA in September of 2012 just as MEDITECH was launching READY and the READY certification program. Jan was instrumental in launching NHA’s READY offerings, service line programs, Project Management/Quality Management office, later assuming top responsibility for NHA’s consultant services.
Jan is a consummate professional in all her internal and external dealings, taking on every challenge with the utmost poise and diplomacy. NHA has been extremely fortunate to have had someone with Jan’s experience, talent and vision at the helm for the past six years.
For those that have worked with Jan over the years, feel free to contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org and please join us in congratulating Jan on her distinguished career. We wish her and her family all the best!
For our many clients, rest assured our management team has a transition plan in place and there will be no impact to your projects.

MEDITECH has developed toolkits to leverage their software to address specific issues such as Sepsis, CAUTI and Fall Risk. Given the power to impact patient safety and improve outcomes, MEDITECH is committed to adding more of these solutions. They are seeking customer feedback on which to prioritize. To participate in this survey, click here.
With our entry into the Canadian market, we want to make sure this newsletter has specific value to this audience. We will provide content to help MEDITECH’s Canadian customers take full advantage of their software.
This month we focus on EHR toolkits. While these have gotten traction in the U.S., we believe fewer Canadian hospitals are taking advantage. Given the different clinical practice guidelines, we confirmed with MEDITECH the content for “Fall Risk” and “Anti-Microbial Stewardship” apply to Canada for all versions of MEDITECH’s software (MAGIC, C/S, 6.x and Expanse). Further, MEDITECH plans to focus on congestive heart failure with Canadian specific evidence sources, guidelines and quality measures.
If you haven’t taken advantage of these toolkits, give them serious consideration as they are powerful tools that are making a difference in patient safety and outcomes. For details, click here.
If you have specific topics you’d like to have us cover in this section, please email us at email@example.com. Finally, if you find this newsletter useful, please share it with your colleagues and suggest they subscribe through our website.
KLAS has recently changed their criteria for providing a “Konfidence” factor associated with consulting vendors. They increased the number of verifiable references required for a Konfidence rating, improving the reliability of their data. They shared the following with us regarding these changes to the “Konfidence” levels:
This change is currently being limited to three services segments and is designed to make the data in these segments more relevant for providers and the industry. The three segments that will be affected by this change are: HIT Advisory Services, HIT Implementation Support & Staffing, and Technical Services.
As a reminder, KLAS Konfidence refers to the number of unique evaluations contributing to the overall score, and currently a minimum of 6 unique evaluations is required to be considered a fully-rated firm with at least one check mark in any given services segment.
After July 15th, the minimum number of unique evaluations required to be fully-rated in HIT Advisory Services, HIT Implementation Support & Staffing, and Technical Services will increase from 6 to 10.
Please see the chart below outlining the pertinent changes:
NHA believes these changes should help you when evaluating consulting companies. As a result of these changes NHA has retained a Konfidence rating in four service categories. Here is how NHA compares to other MEDITECH certified consulting companies by category as of August 17:
We would like to share recent commentary collected by KLAS from CEOs at organizations where we are providing services:
“We worked with Navin Haffty to help us with an ambulatory EMR integration and a platform upgrade for our ED system. Navin Haffty’s people were our project managers. We thought that it was important to have our own folks designated as the actual leaders. They worked with us in a lot of areas. When we want to upgrade the platform for our ED system again, we will definitely engage with Navin Haffty.” – CEO/President
“We stayed within the budgeted amount for the project. There was one cost overrun, but it was because of something that we asked for after the go-live that was outside the original scope. Navin Haffty stayed within the ranges we initially discussed, and they did a really nice job for us. I didn’t feel like I was getting charged for every little thing.” – CEO/President

We are pleased to share a recent testimonial from one of our clients that recently went LIVE with MEDITECH 6.15 with our assistance:
“NHA provided exceptional leadership and guidance during our MEDITECH 6.1 implementation. The consultants did an excellent job helping us achieve a very successful LIVE system. We couldn’t have done it without them. NHA is a high-quality consulting partner and I look forward to working with you again.”
