John Haffty brings over thirty (30) years of Healthcare Information Systems experience and is a recognized expert in the MEDITECH HCIS. With Jim Navin, he formed Navin, Haffty and Associates. Since its founding in 2001, Navin, Haffty & Associates has grown into the largest consulting company that is focused exclusively in the MEDITECH market. John has worked with some of MEDITECH’s largest and most complex organizations. Further, John meets regularly with the leadership of MEDITECH to maintain close contact on their developments and plans and to share real-world experience with them.
John has remained active working with some of the largest health system that use the MEDITECH HCIS. His focus has been preparing organizations for migration from Magic to 6.0, preparing to achieve Meaningful Use status and large scale IT organization modeling.
Recent and current clients have included Catholic Health Initiatives, Denver, CO which is migrating thirty-two (32) hospitals from Magic to 6.0; North Idaho Regional Health Consortium which is migrating 4 hospitals from Magic to 6.0 as well as building out a new IS organization and St. Joseph Health System, Orange, CA a thirteen (13) hospital system with their transition from outsourcing their IS organization to building an in-house IS department. Other recent clients have included CHRISTUS Health, Houston, TX, a thirty-five (35) hospital system; Avera Health System, Sioux Falls, SD, a twenty-eight (28) hospital system and Caritas Christi, Boston, MA, a six (6) hospital system.
John has presented at many MEDITECH venues including its CIO and Physician forums as well as MUSE, the MEDITECH user group. He has also presented at MEDITECH sponsored workshops and internal meetings within MEDITECH.
Prior to forming Navin, Haffty & Associates, John served as Vice President of Superior Consultant Company’s MEDITECH Consulting Group. Under his leadership, Superior grew into one of the largest MEDITECH consulting practices in the country. During his three-year term at Superior, John oversaw more than forty (40) implementations of the MEDITECH HCIS, of which more than half were with the Client Server platform. He was directly involved in managing the successful re-implementation of MEDITECH’s largest, multi-facility client-server project. His team grew to a staff of more than fifty (50) consultants.
John was Chief Information Officer for Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Mass., selected as one of the best hospital information systems by Hospitals magazine in 1992. While at Newton-Wellesley, John implemented the MEDITECH health care information system and developed a beta-site relationship with the company where the hospital became a showcase for prospective client site visits and tested new products and upgrades.
John has been a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society since 1986 and was selected for its prestigious Constituent’s Award for Information Systems in 1999. An active member of the MEDITECH community, he was the Northeast Regional Chair of the MEDITECH Users Group (MUSE) from 1988-1990, and was on the MUSE National Board of Directors from 1990-1994.
John holds a Masters of Business Administration as well as a B.A. in Sociology from Clark University, Worcester, MA.

David Rizk has served as Vice President of NHA for the past five (5) years and brings almost thirty (30) years of Information Systems and Services experience. Over the years, David has served in variety of positions including seventeen (17) years in Healthcare at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, an academic health sciences center as Chief Information Officer. He was responsible for the implementation and operations of the Medical Center’s integrated Healthcare Information Systems. During that time, David worked closely with MEDITECH on new systems, services and technologies. He was an active and respected member of the MEDITECH community and various user groups.
David has also served as Deputy CIO in the Higher Education market in the University of Massachusetts system supporting the University-at-large, i.e., its multi-campus system-wide IS organization and services. During this time David was responsible for the development of the University’s IS organization, its system wide IS Governance model and managed numerous multi-year multi-million dollar mission critical projects.
David has extensive experience in building organizations, infrastructure and services. He has served in many capacities responsible for strategic and tactical planning. His responsibilities, has provided operational management including managing IT organization(s) in excess of one-hundred and twenty staff and twenty plus million dollar operational budgets. David brings operational structure and processes to support the organization current needs and future growth.
David is a seasoned IS professional and brings a wonderful breath of operational experience and expertise in all areas of information services business operations and relationship management.

Dana Spratt serves as the consulting CFO of Navin Haffty & Associates and brings more than twenty-five (25) years of business and financial expertise to the company. While the company executes its service mission, Dana brings conventional financial discipline necessary to ensure that the company's finances and accounting have been subjected to timely information and planning, and reliable internal controls. Dana has been with the Company since January 2004.
Dana’s prior work includes serving as the CFO to a number of consulting services, high-tech, energy and other start-up companies including a period of six years with HCW, Inc. during which time it was ranked #1 in profitability by Inc Magazine and was taken public. Dana spent the early part of his finance career with Coopers & Lybrand in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dana has a B.A degree from Youngstown State University, an M.B.A in finance from Cornell University and is a Massachusetts CPA.

Sarah Gill Burnette has over twenty-five (25) years of professional experience in the Health Care Industry, focusing primarily on Hospital Information Systems Implementations Consulting. Sarah has been in leadership roles for NHA for the past nine (9) years with a focus on ensuring exceptional customer service and quality delivery. Throughout her career, Sarah has led a number of successful HCIS implementations. During her years with Superior Consulting Copmany, Sarah was instrumental in establishing their MEDITECH consulting practice where she served as Vice President. Sarah led and managed multiple successful client engagements at this position and recruited some of the industry's top MEDITECH consulting talent. Prior to consulting, Sarah worked for several hospitals in both Information Systems and operational roles.
Sarah holds a B.S. degree in Health Science from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.

| Carla Abate, Executive Director |

Carla Abate has over twenty (20) years healthcare and financial information technology experience involving major implementation, support services and consulting. Her expertise includes project management of major application implementations on multiple software platforms and re-engineering information technology and customer support services departments. Carla has served in a leadership role for NHA for over eight (8) years, overseeing our delivery of MEDITECH implementation and advanced clinical services.
Prior to joining NHA, Carla served as Executive Director in the MEDITECH Practice of Superior Consultant Company. Her previous career as Information Technology and Strategic Director for a Cerner reference laboratory included management of information systems, client management roles in more than fifty (50) corporate outpatient facilities, as well as the management of client services.
Carla also directed Applications Support Services at a multi-facility healthcare organization, which included seventeen (17) satellite ambulatory clinics. She held management positions at two (2) major vendors of healthcare systems located in the Midwest and South respectively, and managed client support and implementation in financial enterprises.
Carla is pursuing a Masters at Boston University.

Shelly Noyes brings fifteen (15) years of MEDITECH experience and has been part of NHA for the past five (5) years. During her ten (10) years as an employee of MEDITECH, Shelly served in a variety of roles including management, product development, implementation and IS recruiting. Currently, she leads our recruiting and resource management efforts.
While at MEDITECH she worked with many clients to implement and enhance the MEDITECH Laboratory Information System, with much focus on Blood Bank and Pathology. As a product champion Shelly worked closely with clients and product development to enhancement the system and rewrite functionality to better meet client needs. Through this process she worked with MUSE to refine requests and develop specifications.
As a Marketing Manager at MEDITECH, Shelly educated clients and internal staff about MEDITECH advanced clinical initiatives and worked with the team to lead presentations and product demonstrations. She was involved in the reorganization of this group, working with the team on development of marketing campaigns, sales tools and strategy.
Shelly holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Lyndon State College, Lyndonville, VT.

David LaFontaine has twenty four (24) years of experience working in the healthcare industry, the past eighteen (18) years spent delivering information technology solutions to healthcare organizations across the United States and Canada. David has a deep understanding of the MEDITECH Community, having spent six (6) years in the sales and marketing group at MEDITECH. From there he joined Beacon Partners, where, as a Vice President he helped grow and shape the MEDITECH Consulting Practice for the company. David’s breadth of experience involves delivering solutions around implementation, support, training, project management, planning, assessments, and business and IT strategies. He has served in many roles throughout his career, from business development to project and engagement management, as well as oversight of quality of services and management of client relationships for a wide variety of clients and healthcare organizations. Former clients include community and critical access hospitals, integrated delivery systems and regional health networks, large academic medical centers and physician practice plans, as well as various healthcare related vendors.
David has been active in the healthcare information technology industry for many years. He has participated in various industry trade groups and associations, including HIMSS, CHIME, and MUSE. Most recently, David served a two year term as a member of the MUSE Commercial Member Advisory Council (CMAC).

| Joanne Blanchette, Executive Director |

Joanne Blanchette is an accomplished senior management professional with PMI certification and more than twenty-five (25) years of healthcare experience. She has led many MEDITECH implementation projects and has assisted hospitals with their strategic planning to improve and optimize their use of the MEDITECH HCIS. Always the professional, she has achieved significant benefits and positive outcomes for numerous healthcare organizations with her outstanding leadership skills and ability to facilitate change.
Joanne has led a number of 6.0 implementations and migrations and is serving in a Project Advisor role for several clients. Joanne has served in a leadership role for NHA for the past seven (7) years.
Prior to joining NHA, Joanne was an Executive Director with Superior Consultant Company. While consulting over the past seven (7) years, Joanne has been involved with many standardization initiatives as well as process redesign for both clinical and fiscal disciplines for many organizations and has been instrumental in assisting these organizations to optimize their clinical and business processes through upgrading their MEDITECH systems functionality as well as through internal process changes. Other noteworthy accomplishments include HCIS system selections, OR system selections, Enterprise wide scheduling system selections, MEDITECH ring release implementations, Revenue Cycle Process Improvements crossing all hospital disciplines, Interim Management, Development of testing and training materials, Physician Practice Management and process improvement, Support for Medical Necessity and Corporate Compliance and HIPAA.
Prior to consulting, Joanne was the Director of Patient Access Services for a community hospital in the suburbs of Boston.

Scott Blanchette has over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the healthcare industry. As a highly regarded CIO within the industry, he possesses advanced executive and management support systems expertise. He has a history of successful involvements in healthcare business process and technology redesign, visioning and realization of healthcare strategic plans, healthcare operational continuance, and general operations. Scott has recently led a large multi-state health system with their planning and implementation to achieve Meaningful Use status. He has also provided critical support to this health system as it built out an in-house IS department as it dramatically reduced its reliance on outsourcing. He also has extensive experience with the design and deployment of large scale technology initiatives.
Prior to joining the NHA team, Scott spent nearly ten (10) years providing strategic and operational planning, assessment, interim leadership, and MEDITECH implementation management as an Executive Management Consultant for both Superior Consultant Company and JJWild/Perot. Scott also served as the Director of Product Management for AMICAS Inc., one of the industry’s leading PACS software developers. As a hospital executive Scott spent more than ten (10) years as a CIO in the Boston area, leading a number of MEDITECH Hospitals’ Information Systems Departments.
Scott has provided services to many of the largest MEDITECH customers across the US, Canada and the United Kingdom.

| Brenda Fallon, RN, MS, Managing Director |

Brenda Fallon brings over thirty (30) years of healthcare experience as a nurse, nurse manager and clinical informatics specialist. She has spent the last fifteen (15) years in clinical informatics and has spent the last twelve (12) as a consultant focused on implementations, planning and optimizing MEDITECH’s clinicals. She brings hands-on experience and knowledge of their most recent products and versions and has led many large and complex organizations through their implementations. Brenda is highly regarded by executives, physicians and nurses for her leadership skills.
Brenda developed and continues to oversee NHA’s Advanced Clinical’s service line and most related engagements. In addition to significant training on the MEDITECH clinicals, Brenda has completed her graduate education and now holds a Master of Science in Nursing.

Larry Guay has over thirty (30) years of direct healthcare industry experience. As one of the founding members of NHA, he has led our research and strategy efforts, currently overseeing all Meaningful Use tool development and research.
Larry has worked for the major vendors of information systems with an emphasis on integrated delivery systems. His extensive knowledge of industries, product and community as well as his relationships within MEDITECH has positioned him well to serve in this current role. He coordinates all research efforts and actively tracks activities in the industry in and around the MEDITECH market. These efforts also assist NHA in its general educational activities to the management team, our consultants and our user community, including such topics as contributions to our newsletter. In addition, he assists in review of NHA vendor relationships and/or alliances.
Larry is a member of the HIMSS, New England Chapter and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Merrimack College.

Donna Duncan brings thirty-five (35) years of healthcare experience, nine (9) of which were in leadership roles for information system analytics and consulting services. Her experience includes engagement management and project management of numerous MEDITECH application implementations. She is experienced with process redesign and standardization within multi-facility enterprises. Donna performs clinical system assessments and has led successful optimizations in preparation for implementations of CPOE and provider documentation.
Prior to joining Navin, Haffty & Associates Donna served as senior consultant for IBM responsible for leading multiple clinical implementations. Her previous career as a Clinical Analyst II included production support of clinical applications, implementation of updates and enhancements.
Before her career change to Information Services Donna was a Respiratory Therapist in the clinical environment. She was Charge Therapist for a Cardio-Pulmonary department. Donna developed and implemented a Pulmonary Rehabilitation program that included the recruitment of physicians and patients.

Brian Halbert has worked as a Project Manager and Information Systems Implementation Specialist for over twenty (20) years with a primary focus in Meditech HCIS implementations for the last fifteen (15) years. Brian has lead hospital wide Client Server and 6.0 projects in addition to a variety of targeted departmental implementations. In addition to implementation work, Brian has performed system optimization reviews, readiness assessments, and pre-implementation team building engagements. Prior to focusing full time on Meditech implementations, Brian implemented Kronos Time and Attendance for six (6) years the last two (2) years of implementations were dedicated in healthcare.
Brian received a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.

Rob Hoehne brings deep experience in project, change and system management. He is an accomplished leader, overseeing multiple MEDITECH implementation projects. He has also led a number of process improvement, strategic planning, and optimization initiatives at a variety of healthcare organizations. Rob’s expertise is managing projects at large multi-facility organizations. He has a proven track record of user adoption, reduction in paper, increased revenue as well as increased efficiencies in complex clinical settings. He is an industry leader in physician adoption, specializing in Physician documentation/dictation and medication management.
Prior to joining Navin, Haffty and Associates, Rob was a Program Manager for a large healthcare organization in Colorado. Rob comes to healthcare from the software vendor environment where he managed product installations.

Kevin Woodbury is a senior level healthcare professional with nearly thirty-four (34) years of progressive and diverse healthcare experience. Kevin has managed large, multi-facility implementations and conversions, performed various system/project/readiness assessments, created multiple Advance Clinical system and interoperability briefs, developed Information Systems Operational and Strategic Plans and served as Interim CIO within various organizations.
As a strategic advisor to one of MEDITECH’s largest multi-state health systems, Kevin is guiding a Magic to 6.0 migration for over thirty (30) hospitals, based on the creation of system-wide standards.
Prior to his work with Navin Haffty & Associates, Kevin has served as a CIO for a mid-size medical center in eastern Massachusetts for three (3) years, served as an Interim VP of Support and Clinical Services for one (1) year, worked as a clinical and administrative systems analyst for five (5) years, directed a high volume Emergency Center for three (3), Served as a Director of Materials Management for eight (8) years and as a Storeroom Manager for two (2) years.
This diversity provides Kevin with a unique perspective and allows him to apply his experience within most areas of a healthcare organization.
Kevin holds a Masters of Business Administration as well as a B.A. from Bryant College, Smithfield, MA.
