COMPANY HISTORY

Founded in 2001, Navin, Haffty & Associates (NHA) to meet the needs of healthcare organizations that use the MEDITECH HCIS. At that time, there was not a single consulting company that provided consulting services exclusively to this market. NHA was established to be the pro-MEDITECH consulting company that would help hospitals to utilize this software more fully.

Clients: In 2006, NHA served 110 healthcare organizations that use MEDITECH for their HCIS. These clients range from large multi-facilities such as Christus Health, Houston, TX and Avera Health, Sioux Falls, SD to critical access hospitals. We provide services throughout the United States and in 2006 worked with clients in more than 30 states from Maine to California.

MEDITECH relationship: NHA believes that MEDITECH is as important to our organizational success as any client. We believe that, helping our clients build their relationship with MEDITECH directly serves all parties best interests.

Sales and Marketing: NHA is the only large consulting company serving the MEDITECH community that does not employ any sales staff. We are concerned over the inherent conflict of sales staff’s motivation to sell versus the ability of a consulting company to actually deliver services promised. We believe this is at the root cause of the inconsistent reputation of consulting companies in general. We are pleased to be able to market our services via reputation and referral.

Our Newsletter: Probably nothing distinguishes NHA in this market more than our monthly newsletter. It is a source of useful information for MEDITECH HCIS users and focuses NHA on remaining the thought leader in this community. Further, this newsletter allows us to address misinformation from other vendors and sources and provide positive news and information. Readership currently exceeds 5,000 individuals at more than 900 healthcare organizations.

Our consultants: We currently have more than 90 consultants ranging from Project Managers, Senior Consultants and Product specialists. Our clinical consultants currently include 17 nurses, 2 registered pharmacists, 5 pharmacy technicians, one physician assistant and 7 other allied health professionals (dietitians, respiratory therapists, etc.). Four of our project managers are PMI certified. We also have another 10 excellent consultants who have worked for many years with MEDITECH’s clinical applications that came from an information systems background.

Our Management Team: We are most proud of the strength of our Management Team. Every member of this management team brings over 10 years of MEDITECH HCIS experience and are highly regarded in the industry. In the past year, more than a dozen MEDITECH organizations have engaged us to help develop strategic plans for their overall information systems as well as their advanced clinical systems
